All parents are automatically members of the Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA). Regular meetings are held to organise fund-raising and social events, such as beetle drives, fashion shows, stalls at the Winster Wakes Carnival, and the provision of refreshment at Winster's Secret Gardens.
Our fundraising has helped us to support the school by providing non-core curriculum activities and equipment which enrich the children's learning experience and make education fun:
If you're the parent of a child at Winster School, you're already a member of the PTFA! Equally, the 'F' in PTFA means that you don't have to be the parent of a current pupil at the school to join the fun. Please see any of the committee to get involved, make a difference and have fun whilst supporting your school.
If you prefer a less active role, there are two very easy ways to help us raise money:
One of the ways used by Winster School PTFA to raise funds for the school, is by running a '100 Club'. For £10 (for 6 months) or £20 (for a year) you are entered into a monthly draw for prizes of £25, £10 and £5. Click here to email the 100 Club organiser if you wish to be included.
A really easy way to raise money for the school is by signing up, online, to The Giving Machine. If you click through The Giving Machine website before going shopping on the internet, 455 online shops (including Amazon, Ebay, Sainsbury's, Tesco, M&S and Argos) will donate a percentage of the amount you spend to Winster School PTFA.
Click this Giving Machine link to sign up now and you can start to raise funds for school without leaving your living room!
We know how important it is for pre-school children to feel happy and excited about joining school. We invite younger children to join us whenever possible to get to know the school, and their future friends, before they join us. This can involve meeting Father Christmas when he visits us, or for parents of pre-school children to visit during 'Fly on the Wall' week - where parents come in to join a lesson. It's also good for parents to see the school in order to know that it will be right for their child, so we provide opportunities for this to happen throughout the school year.
If you want us to let you know what's happening for prospective pupils and their families, please contact us on 01629 650238 or by email.
